  I love Dairy Queen but I have been to this location in Locust about six times and two times they did not have vanilla ice cream. How do you have an ice cream shop without ice cream??? Poorly managed i guess. Disappointing too...

  After being open for over a year this place still can not run efficiently. The store is a great starter job for high schoolers, however you can't depend on teens to run a business, but sadly that's what's going on. Managers are constantly changing which speaks volumes about the upper management. As a previous assistant manager for this location I can confidently state that the sole purpose of this location failing lays on the district "manager" Lisa. Calling her a manager is a complete stretch of the word because she is clearly clueless on what manager does. I've witnessed her allowing an employee under the influence of drugs work his shift and allow him to continue employment. I have witnessed mold in the ice cream machines, I have witnessed expired food products be served and the pest infestation seems to be little to no concern. However the owners of the store and attached gas station, Albemarle Oil Company have no clue of the lack of managerial direction she provides which is sad as I know they'd be mortified to hear what goes on behind the scenes. Consumer wise I would advise to steer clear of this location for you food and sanitation wellbeing. Until management is replaced and sober staff is employed it will be a matter of time before customers become sick.

  I have honestly never been to a Dairy Queen before. Decided to try it out with my Dad the other day. I usually go to Sonic for shakes and things, but I was really surprised by Dairy Queen. The place is nice and clean and the blizzard I ordered was much better than a comparable one I typically order at Sonic. I think i may start going to Dairy Queen more often.
